Because Ireland runs its own visa regime separate from Schengen, a Schengen visa does not cover Ireland and vice-versa. The short-stay 'C' visa is used for tourism, family visits and short business trips.
If your travel plans include both Ireland and continental Europe, you will generally need two separate visas. Plan timelines accordingly, and keep your Vanuatu passport valid well beyond your trip.
Ireland participates in the British-Irish visa scheme for some nationalities, but Vanuatu citizens should not assume reciprocity — apply for the Irish visa directly.
